- Radio Slave - Grindhouse (Dubfire Terror Planet Mix) on REKIDS (soon, this is from a promo)
Bejeesus. This is one evil track. It does to me what Audion’s “Noiser” and Danton Eeproms “Confessions of an English Opium Eater” did last year.
This is from a limited edition 7″ single where Maps and M83 remix each other. Maps’ “To the sky” becomes a melancholic piece with a bombastic finale. I chose the chirpier and happier “We own the sky” remixed by Maps, it’s a summer song.
Download & You can buy the single from Sonic Cathedral Recordings homepage. It’s worth every penny.
This tune is from a very solid compilation on Perspectiv Records, with tracks picked by Ripperton and SamK (not a surprise really given that Perspectiv is their label), and it’s mastered by Robert Babicz - how’s that for a quality assurance?
We like Apparat, and we love Telefon Tel Aviv. This great techno-pop song becomes more organic than the original in the hands of Telefon Tel Aviv. If you want more bang for buck I’d go for the Things to Be Frickled : Parts & Remixes where you get one cd with remixes by Apparat and one where Apparat is remixed, with Schallstrom (Thomas Fehlmann Remix) being one of the highlights in my opinion.
Additional tracks:
I usually don’t like tracks with that typical minimal blip sound, but this is a funky tune.
Download & Buy (apparently you can’t buy this track yet, as it’s from a promo, but buy something else, and keep your eyes peeled)
- Daso - Pars Tensa on Connaisseur Recordings
I’m not so good with words so I’ll let the people at Little White Earbuds tell you about this track: It “is a masterful blend of techno heartburn, the pleading strums of almost Flaminco flavored guitar strums/finger picking and a swinging house beat”. The A-side is ace too, though less melodic and aimed for a pumping dance floor with it’s almost bodymusic like bass.
